Question
What does the provider charge for professional services during the Fast ForWord programs?
Answer
We charge $1500 for providing Fast ForWord at our site, and we allow a 20% discount for providing Fast ForWord to an off-site location (in the participant's own home, for example). This fee includes pre-testing and post-testing. Scientific Learning charges $850 for a license to use the software and for their support. Thus, the total cost is $2350, including the software license and our professional fee.
We bill pre-testing separately at $125, and if we agree that the student is a good candidate for Fast ForWord, the testing fee is credited toward therapy. To put this another way, if it is decided to proceed with Fast ForWord, our fees will never total more than $1500, but if it is decided not to try Fast ForWord, then we are paid only the $125 for the evaluation we provide. Post-testing is provided automatically after the student completes the program. Our fee is the same for Step 4word or 4wd.
All fees are paid in advance. We have had some families successfully tap their "flex plan" to pay for Fast ForWord. So far, we have no experience billing insurance companies, but we are willing to provide any necessary and available documentation to families or participants to support a claim. Across the nation, many providers have successfully billed insurance companies and HMOs.
As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Mark has received payment from state agencies and has successfully assisted families to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies for evaluations. Under certain conditions, school districts will pay for an independent evaluation.
