BILLINGS, MONTANA, Sept. 7, 2004 -- Fast ForWord®, the CD-ROM and Internet-based program that significantly improves critical language skills needed for reading and communication, is now available to area students. Rosanna Buehl, a certified school psychologist and licensed clinical professional counselor who offers the breakthrough training, describes the Fall session as a potential way to get a "fresh start" on language skills for the current school year. "Fast ForWord is technology-based and draws on years of
research in neuroscience to achieve proven results," reports
Buehl of The Learning Clinic in Billings. "Many students
with language problems experience language gains of one and
a half to two years in just four to eight weeks working with
the program," she says. Fast ForWord was specifically designed to move children
along the language-to-literacy continuum. In the classroom,
these children often fall behind their peers in vocabulary,
spelling, reading, and writing. "Language problems affect up
to 30 percent of all learners," observes Buehl, who is
specially certified to administer the program. "It's for
these learners that Fast ForWord was developed and for who
the Fall session can make an important difference. And we
now have a program for adolescents and adults, too." Buehl
says that the Fall session has limited enrollment, and urges
those interested to contact her soon for more details at
259-3110. |
