Based on over 25 years of scientific research, the AIMSweb Progress Monitoring and Improvement System combines standard Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM) testing materials with the power and convenience of web-based data management and reporting applications. Together, the components of AIMSweb provide a pro-active, evidence-based solution for universal screening, strategic assessment, determining special services eligibility, and progress monitoring.
AIMSweb Basic is a comprehensive and powerful DIBELS data reporting mechanism and provides a pro-active and preventative assessment solution to inform instruction, demonstrate improvement, and report success.
AIMSweb is Reading First aligned and meets assessment requirements included in No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and Individual with Disabilities Act (IDEA).
Montana’s Reading First has chosen to adopt the AIMSWeb Management System to manage and report their DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) benchmark and progress monitoring data beginning the Spring 2005. All of the Montana’s Reading First Specialists unanimously decided to transfer to the AIMSWeb data management system for its user friendly layout and the ability to manipulate between reports. It was determined that AIMSweb reports offered assistance in data driven decision making for instructional strategies based on student need.
Training will be provided in April for all Reading First Specialists, Reading Coaches and Principals on the use of the AIMSweb System. Additional training will be provided as needed.
Montana’s Reading First involves 13 districts with 21 schools. Additional schools to be added for the 2005-2006 school year.

AIMSweb Benchmark and Strategic Monitor is a research-based formative assessment and improvement system designed to improve general education achievement and increase accountability. AIMS-web Benchmark provides teachers, parents, and administrators with useful reports about students’ current general skills and their progress during the academic year. Reports identify students at risk, help individualize instruction, evaluate student progress to insure success, and serve as an accountability and communication tool for system improvement. These assessment practices are aligned with nclb, Reading First, and idea standards.
This training session is directed at all education professionals who need an assessment and improvement system designed to improve classroom achievement and increase accountability. It is assumed that registrants are current or intend to be subscribers to AIMSweb Pro or AIMSweb Basic.
It is best if a team of people from a school or district train together. Possible team members include but are not limited to the following:
